Get / Create and then replace the folder's icon

As you know Windows has those ugly default folder icons, so in this post I'll teach you where to find new icons and how to change the old icons by the new ones, for example the ones in your desktop.

First I remind you that there are themes that change not just the folder icons but also the task bar and all the appearance in general, but that's not what this post is about.

Getting the the ICO files - There are some ways og getting the icons, I'll present to you three:

• Search for it in a website with a large icon database like iconarchive, iconfinder or findicons;
• Convert PNG format to ICO format in ConvertICO;
• Create your own Icons in RW icon creator or with an awesome adobe tool, the Adobe Icon Generator Pro;

Changing the icon:

1. Right click on the folder which the icon you want to replace;
2. Select properties
3. Go to the Customize tab
4. Choose change icon and browse you brand new icon!!
5. Feel accomplished.
